I am a versatile designer. Currently I deal with complex problems of enterprise products so I learned to design a highly functional and intuitive interfaces. But I can also make them look good too. BTW my original background is an industrial design. Yeah, I designed the real physical stuff you can touch. Check out my industrial design portfolio at Coroflot.
I am part of a design team including circa 50 members distributed among multiple time zones, Czech Republic, Texas USA, UK, Canada, Poland and Romania. In addition to these locations, the engineering team is also located within Ukraine.
Lots of communication with other designers, product managers, product owners, developers, user researchers and other key stakeholders is necessary and the main ingredience to success.
I am a key contributor to the SolarWinds design language, design system and SolarWinds Orion, the IT monitoring and management suite that consists of 14 individual modules integrated into unified platform.
On daily basis I review and discuss work of other designers, actively mentor them along the way to ensure UI/UX consistency, UX best practices, proper application of SolarWinds design system and design guidelines in general.
I reagularly conduct UX team meetings to discuss globally relevant topics, product work, pressing problems, process and improvement suggestions from team members. Also conduct Lead designers sync to discuss work and situation across business units.
I am still active designer for few projects so I attend relevant scrum team meetings such as backlog refinements, sprint plannings, sprint retrospectives also od-demand user feedback sessions and design reviews. I try to delegate what I can, but there still too many products and projects design team has to support so we are unfortunately still spread pretty thin.
If an IT guy gets complaint like “Hey, Jira is slow today!” then NetPath™ is the is the right product to use. It's a brand new feature of Network Performance Monitor, that allows administrators to troubleshoot complex hybrid IT networks by discovering, visualizing and analyzing the dynamic network paths from source to destination including the internet portion of the path.
Look and feel of Orion® (IT monitoring suite) is outdated. Orion consist of 14 individual modules that can plug together into a single monitoring platform. There is no shared nor reusable library of UI elements and patterns which leads to an inconsistent look and feel. This was a really huge project to tackle. But we've made it.
I worked on many different projects of various complexity, maturity and importance. I have experience with redesign of a legacy system but also with designing a brand new 1.0 product from scratch. Projects were mostly web-based products, but I also worked on few Windows OS products.
Majority of projects are related to SolarWinds Orion® Platform, the unified all-IT solution for management, monitoring, visualizing, and analyzing the performance of networks, applications, systems, and databases on-premises, in a hybrid environment, or in the cloud, trusted by 400+ of the Fortune 500 companies.
Medium projects / Monitored entity management, Main navigation redesign, Main navigation customization, Dashboarding framework and widgets, Global search, Centralized license console, High availability and disaster recovery, In product inteligence, Cross-sell, Up-sell, Global calendar, Schedule manager, Maintenance mode improvements, Main settings redesign
In my spare time, if energy and family allows, I work on few of side projects, mostly for fun, training my unconstrained creativity and design craft skills up to date. Sometimes is great to forget about all the seriousness and company constraints and just get into the flow and have fun. From time to time I take on some logo, business card, corporate identity design project but mostly I really like 3D modeling and smaller industrial design projects, or just sketch on a paper etc.
